Professor Norman Davies on the state of Europe

Monday, 15 October 2012
The David Davies Memorial Institute (DDMI) is delighted to announce that the internationally esteemed historian Professor Norman Davies will give the 2012 Annual Lecture.

In his early career, Professor Davies specialized in the history of Poland, but subsequently has made decisive contributions to our understanding both of British history and that of Europe as a whole. His latest book, which has been greeted with critical acclaim, is "Vanished Kingdoms: The History of Half-Forgotten Europe" (2011).

The 2012 DDMI Annual Lecture will take place at 6.00pm on Thursday, 1 November 2012, in the Old Hall of the Old College. All are welcome. Professor Davies will speak on the state of Europe (precise title to be announced nearer the date). It promises to be a major statement by one of the leading historians of our times.
